Hair Talk!

I have been DYING to get my hair cut (no pun intended). It has been way too long, and I finally have money to do it! (thanks Justin) So what many people don’t know, even people who actually know me in “real life” is that I have ridiculously long hair. I mean, past my ass! shocked It’s now the longest I’ve ever had it, my length usually averages to my lower back. I only wear it down after showers to air-dry or to braid it so it can be set in silky waves. Other than that, it’s up in clips and messy buns or funky ponytails that make me look like I only have shoulder-length hair. I’m not trying to hide it, I’m just bored with it and tired of dealing with it in my face.

So anyway, I’m getting it chopped off. Now, “chopped off” to me is about… 18 inches or so. Which would still leave me with hair to my elbows, which is still pretty long compared to all of today’s little pixie cuts. I figure I will just add some layers and fix up my disgusting side-swept bangs. I really love that chick’s hair to the left, what do you think? (click it!) The texture is the same as my own and her color is similar although a little lighter than mine. I want something long enough so that I still feel like Ashley, but short enough to where I can wear it down without sitting on it or getting stopped on the street by old ladies to chat about it (which is flattering, but still aggravating).

I’m a bit of a hippie when it comes to putting gross shit in my hair. I never dye it or blow-dry it and ultimately just want something natural and feminine. Something no-fuss and pretty. Sometimes I feel like the last girl on the planet left with long hair. Actually, like 3 years ago when everyone had super short hair I was like “I’ll stick this out because soon my hair will be cool again” and sure enough, here’s Paris Hilton and every other lamer wearing hair extensions. But in the end, I think I have the Mariah Carey complex and I’ll just never have really short hair. It’s my security blanket.

In other news: There is no news. Just more snow. cute

NOTE TO SELF: Drop letter in postbox tomorrow…

Sorry Ash, I’ve been hellabusy lately and I feel like crap. Next week is my spring break though and I’m sooooo relieved. Plus, I only work three days which is kind of nice for a change. I’m ridiculously tired.

By the way, I really do like that hair style. I think you could probably manage it without really doing much to it. I tend not to fuck with mine either. I blowdry it in the winter just so it won’t freeze, because yes…my room really is that damn cold. Other than that, no gel or spray goes into it. To be honest…I don’t even brush it. laugh

I think I’m getting a haircut next week also. Still don’t know how or if I’m coloring it though. Eh.

    Loooooooooooove you. love

Fucking hell ashley, your hair would be up to your elbows even in you cut off 18″? That’s mad! I had all mine cut off too the other day. Except mine is very short. I do miss my long hair, buts its refreshing to have something new. You must show pictures of your hair before AND after you have it cut! Oh pretty please? :) xxx

Aw, you should definitely get your hair cut like that picture…although it might be hard to get it to look like that without any hair products. I always had short hair when I was little and was frequently mistaken for a boy. So I started growing my hair out in sixth grade and it hasn’t been short since. I don’t think it ever will be, either.

You should donate your hair to Locks of Love, a charity that makes wigs for kids with cancer who have lost their hair to chemo. I have donated my hair to them 3 times already. They send you a thank-you card from the child who got the wig made of your hair. Here’s the link to the webbie, if you’re interested:

My site is up now. I don’t really love the layout, but . . .

Could you link me from your main page now? Thanks

I think long hair is the best, but I wouldn’t be able to handle it if it was really that long. I am bored with my current style too, it’s pretty much all one length and I could use some layers.
