Best night I’ve had in a while!

Last night’s show was awesome. Converge played a lot of songs they haven’t played in years. I got some cool videos, but very few photos, due to the fact that I was not in a prime location and the lighting sucked worse than usual. This was the first show I attended at this particular venue, so I got to feel it out and see how Buffalo does hardcore (pretty well, I must add!), and I scouted a few spots along the front where I can get some better photos next time around.

Anyway, this venue is basically a tiny old theater that was gutted, and they still have a tiny strip of elevated seats in the back, and I managed to snag one of them. It was really odd, because I’ve never sat down at a show before… and while it was cool to have a seat, I will definitely be standing along with everyone else next time. I felt too disconnected.

Justin and I have been talking about buying a house within the next year (Buffalo has the cheapest houses I’ve ever seen!). A house below market value that needs cosmetic work or maintenance would be perfect to fix up and live in until we finish college. For instance, buying a $20,000 house and putting $15,000 worth of renovations into it is about the same as renting this apartment for 4 years straight. The money we spend renting will never come back to us, but by buying a house, we have a great chance of getting every dollar back, or possibly even make a profit when we need to sell it. It’s an exciting idea, but we have a lot more to think about.

Good on ya for having a good time.

That venue sounds like a place in Traverse City (whereabouts I used to live) called The City Opera House.

They dumped like a million bucks into renovating it, and now they don’t hold concerts anymore.

Wow– you can buy houses in Buffalo for only $20K? That is amazing. I think if fiance and I lived there we would have purchased a house instead of living in an apartment– there would be so many perks! Sure, a few downsides like actually having to fix it up and when stuff is broken you can’t just call your landlord. I think it would be a very good idea for you two to invest in a home. How long have you two been living together? Any plans of marriage in the near future?

I’m glad to hear you had fun last night. Buying a house for $20, 000 is a great deal I believe. Here, houses are quite expensive. They cost from $1.5 million go up. *sigh* Sadly, you have to work your butt of until you die to pay for it. But I agree with you. It’s worth investing in a house than renting and it’s not even yours. Good luck with it though.

I’m glad you had a great time at the show and that you remembered to go ;)
Wow,a house for 20.000 $,that’s great! Over here, prices start at 150.000 euros which is nearly the same in $ I think.
Umm I would like to ask if you’d like to be affiliated with my site?
I would put your link up right away :)

Unfortunately, due to having not the best credit (we’ve made some mistakes. We’re trying to fix them!) we can’t buy a house right now. But honestly, we’re kinda happy in our apartment right now. But hopefully some day, before we start having babies (and the like) we will have a home. I’d be willing to move to Buffalo– the prices are amazing!

So even though I won’t be going through the same process as you with buying a house and all, I hope that we could still be friends. You seem very rad and it’s nice knowing someone on the Internets near my age– it seems that everyone else I come across is much younger than me, heh. (Makes me feel old!)

It costs $11 where my mom works for a waxing but I used her discount so it only cost $10 after I tipped the lady. She said it lasts anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on how quickly your eyebrow fur [sic] grows, so I’m not sure just yet if it will last longer for me. I will let you know!!

I’m glad you had such a good time. I’m so jealous! I haven’t been to a show since Bonnaroo ‘06. I’m hoping to make it to Gathering of the Vibes this summer to make up for it.

I can’t believe houses are that cheap in Buffalo! That’s insane. I’m in Orange County (a few hours away) and there’s no such thing as a house under $200,000.
