Justin is glued to the TV, watching hockey - according to him it’s very important. Something about playoffs. I personally don’t like hockey, I know nothing about it and have never met a guy who liked hockey this much. Football and Basketball are way bigger back home, up here it’s Hockey all the way.
Like I said before - Buffalo should belong to Canada.
Summer is getting nearer and nearer and I’m not looking forward to it. I just think it’s going to be a miserable year. I’m out of shape and even if I wasn’t, the only “beaches” near here are the Great Lakes. I can’t swim in them, ew! I sound really scared of change, but I guess after moving a gazillion times, I just want some familiarity. I’m sure I’ll start to like it here, but right now there’s just too much changing too fast and I feel like I left half of myself in Pennsylvania.
After not having internet for over 2 months, I feel out of touch with the whole “blog scene” so-to-speak. I’m not motivated either - I used to be fine fixing up fanlistings and scanning Vogue ads for my scan site, but now it’s just not fulfilling. I’m really lonely, too. I hope I make some friends up here soon - although, I probably won’t because socially, I’m just so damn introverted.
Heather: I didn’t forget that we’re penpals (that sounds so lame right?). I’ll write to you real soon!

Yeah I never really like hockey, rodney likes it too but he likes race car driving a lot more though. I’m sure in time you will start liking it there, it just takes time. I’m sure you’ll make friends.
- GG
THANK JESUS you finally got internet. About goddamn time! Anyways, I also love you and missed you mucho, and I’m really glad youre back.
and haha yes, my style has definitely changed a lot. I still love your themes, so don’t fucking touch them k :)
- Brent
I’m not into sports. I’ve never seen a hockey game either. 0_o; Hopefully you’ll get familiar with where you are soon. It’s such a big change from where you were originally so at first it may be lonely and all but after time it’ll feel like “home” to you. ^_________^
- Jenn~
lol@it’s important. guys and their sports. sighs.
- Princess
yeah, because where she’s from is basically the fucking south. at least we get a substantial winter here.
- justin
Yes, Ugly Betty is a very good show. I’m not sure if all the episodes are up on abc.com, but if you ever get a chance, you should definitely check it out on DVD.
Even though summer is all about shorts and warmer weather, at least (I think) you’ll get a nicer summer. I get to look forward to 90 degree heat with about 100% humidity. Yay, Boston!
- Rachel
aww poor thing.. im not into hockey either.. the guy im talkin to.. is into every SPORT! it has gotten bad because now i watch espn sport center in the morning instead of good morning america..hopefully you will start making some friends soon!… summer is great.. to me at least :)
- Gigi
lol, you’re such a dork Ash. Fo Sho…
I have a hard time making friends too. Actually, I have a hard time meeting people. Once we’ve started talking I’m more than fine…eh.
And you’re right, you can’t swim in the Lakes. They’ve been poisoned. I should know. I’ve lived here my entire life and I swim in them once every, I don’t know…3 years? If that. Usually it’s either too cold, or there are too many dead fish on the beach. lol, gross but true.
I’d find a YMCA if I were you…
- Heathee
well, i can speak for michigan, but you can swim in the great lakes. the annual polar bear swim is held at the olcott beach of lake ontario in march, and there are several public beaches around lake erie.
lake ontario was once considered a biologically dead lake, but has recently been cleaned up. lake erie was heavily polluted at one time, and that is being addressed also. any significant amounts of pollution were either treated or are being treated by a bi-national association of the united states and canada to preserve the world’s largest bodies of fresh water.
- justin
Buffalo should belong to Canada?! Canada should belong to the US! Haha! You’re so close to the border now that Canada is practically across the street. I wouldn’t recommend swimming in a lake. The idea of water just sitting in one place with little circulation irks me. I am way too terrified of living away from Long Island (can you tell?!). I hope you’re able to make some friends up there. I’ve been to Buffalo once and I was so scared of it’s small town suburbia feeling. I was definitely made for New York City.
- Christina
the lakes have plenty of circulation via canals, rivers, etc. how do you think water circulates in the first place? they’re larger than most seas for christ’s sake.
buffalo is known as a big city with a small town feel, better than a tiny island with skyscrapers peering off the edge ready to sink into the ocean. by the way, we hate long islanders here.
- justin
I’m not looking forward to summer either. I’m also very introverted as well. I have a handful of friends in this town but I hardly see them. Good luck making friends and everything.
- Alanna
Ehh I’m not looking forward to summer either ;| I pretty much hate the sun. Nor do I like hockey or any other sport come to think about it…but i hope you have some fun during summer
- Sian
awesome layout, its deff. my style…
- Allison
Hey Ashley. Wow it’s been so long since I last dropped by. How are you? I hope you are doing well in the new place. Yea it will be akward at first but you will get used to it soon. Try to mix with some new friends and you won’t feel bored heh… I don’t really like hockey but tennis is nice haha.. You can join him watching hockey.
- Raymond
hockeeeeeeeee… is important because i am canadian and my team is the senators which, consequently just knocked out buffalo.
at any rate, glad you’re back hostess. good luck conquering the new place with its new people. you could take public transportation adventures which i’ve done here and always leads to some good times and interesting company.
and yes, liquid nitrogen is for freezing off warts. i did not have a wart, but i sort of wanted to know what liquid nitrogen feels like on the skin because i am slightly odd like that. i would not recommend it.
- felina
I dont watch hockey.. or sports for that matter so I don’t know what you’re talking about
I know what you mean about not having internet for a while and then when you come back its different.. like a different feeling (laziness perhaps? :))
- Aimee
I know what you mean about feeling out of touch with the whole blodgging-scene. As far as the whole.. Living in Buffalo thing I can’t really relate, because I’ve never moved any great distance, and I’m from New Zealand so America is a bit confusing for me at times. Heh. >.
- Katie
My friends boyfriend is madly into hockey as well. To the point where he spends a good amount of time checking hockey stats on his cellphone…Whatever.
I hope you find some really cool friends and that you feel back in touch with this internet world. It would be shame to lose you.
- Jessica
you have a penpal? that’s so cooL! i wish i could have one, i think it’d be interesting!
