You’ve heard this before but…
I’m back. For real this time. I’ll finally be able to update and comment regularly!
So, as the story goes, I’ve been living in Buffalo for about 2 months now. I don’t love it or hate it, and it seems like a typical American city. It has a little bit of a midwestern feel to it which is a new experience for me. There is this one issue: I’m an East Coast kid all the way and I grew up with New York pizza… large slices, thin crust - up here the “standard” pizza is what I’ve always known to be “Sicilian”. I hate Sicilian pizza! I can’t get the thin crust anywhere it seems (and everybody cuts their pizza in squares here, wtf?) but I’ve only tried maybe 4-5 pizzerias so maybe I’ll find a place that reminds me of home. Of course, there’s more to moving than getting to whine about the food choices. One more thing: People in Buffalo don’t say “soda” - they say “pop”
I’ve lost a lot of hosting business because of this internet drought. If anyone has a friend looking to start their own website, perhaps you can keep me in mind
Not only that, clicksor has removed loveisdead.net from their site. Apparently there’s not enough new content (because I haven’t updated) to carry the ads. Bummer! I have a crapload of work to do as far as fanlistings go, but my first priority is checking up on you folks and reconnecting with everyone. It’s been so long.

Glad you’re back for real this time. I adore your site! Thanks for the comment. I agree that sunflowers are scary. I’ve never stood in them (that I can remember) but it seems scary having them the same height or taller than you lol. And yeah James and I have been together for three years and two months just about and we’ve lived together for two years of that time. I hate the whole being told what’s going on but hopefully this means he is getting better at talking things through with me rather than saying “I’m doing this and that.” It was okay when we were just dating but now that we’re married things are different now lol.
- Alanna
Welcome back! I hope you start adjusting to all these changes! I’m originally from the Midwest so when I moved to Texas I got made fun of for saying pop. Everyone just says COKE for everything, hehe! Well, can’t wait for the new updates, so glad you are back!
- Steph
Yay for regular updates! :) Yeah, I’m afraid of fake tanner.. that it will make me look like an orange. I’ve seen it happen too many times! And real tanning may be painful and unhealthy, but there’s nothing like an actual tan. Which, in my case, just means “less pale,” not actually tan…
And I understand your pizza problems! I’m a new york/philly person myself, but for some reason the pizza in brooklyn, where my friend lives, is all square, which is simply not cool. I’m a little prejudiced against square pizza, not gonna lie. And thick pizza is not even worth eating. But i’m glad things are good other than the pizza dilemma! Hope you get your internet business back!
- E
Welcome back! & I hope you find a good pizza place soon. Nothing seems to compare to really good NY style pizza.
- Rachel
Oh I didn’t mean it like that lol. I’m sure things will be fine with my husband. I just meant that when we were dating it was okay for him to do that since I did the same thing. Now that we’re married it’s fine for him to hang out with friends and vice versa I just think we should talk about it before it happens rather than after it happens since that’s what we did when we dated. When we were dating and once we became engaged things got better though and we were living together so its easier to tell the other person when we’re doing stuff etc. Ah, I don’t know how to explain but just I know what I mean lol.
- Alanna
Thin crust is the way to go!! Everyone in Ohio says ‘pop’ for the most part. Though I say ’soda’…haha. I’ve missed you. It’s good to know you are alive. I’m planning on getting a new camera soon and if/when I do. I plan on opening a photography/portfolioish type site. You’re going to host it. That is if you want. haha. LOVE YOU, Jessica
- Jessica
Nice to see you back for real :)
But aww, I hate that - if you get used to one thing, and then it’s not as good anywhere else, it’s annoying. Especially with something as important as pizza :P
I guess it’s not bad that you don’t hate the new place though :)
Good luck with the hosting-ness though, hopefully a few more come along :)
- Eilidh
Basically, I just love you Ash. :)
And the pizza situation…that’s rough. I mean, I happen to like thick pizza so maybe I wouldn’t mind…but I understand where you’re coming from. We have a pizza place in town (one of the 3/4) that cuts their food into squares. I really don’t like it much.
I get laughed at for saying soda because I live in Michigan and here, apparently, we’re too far north to refer to it as anything other than pop. EXCEPT, my family’s from Missouri and other states further south. So it’s soda, bastards…
Annnyway, I’m glad the move seems to have gone well. I think Mike and I are going to try to get a house this summer. But I’m broke. But I got a new car today so hopefully I’ll be able to drive to a better job now.

I’m glad things are going well in Buffalo, even if the pizza sucks. But in reality, no pizza is as amazing as New York City pizza. My friend goes to SUNY Albany, and her friends came down to Long Island to visit for a few days. They spent all of yesterday eating pizza and bagels because they were “the most amazing things ever.” Haha. And pop? WTF, mate?! It’s soda all the way!
- Christina
I’m happy you’re back :) I think I’m going to buy a domain, so maybe you could host me?
haha, i love pizza no matter what style it is.
- David
actually, it’s pop. if you have a problem with regional vocabularies and dialects, perhaps you should confine yourself to a small comfort zone, and never communicate with anyone outside of it. and then you would be what we call a hick.
- justin
glad you’re back, this is such a nice site.
I didn’t get the pizza thingy, but I think you’re lucky for living in America, not like me, stuck here in Aust.
- Kelly
i’m so happy you’re back
…i’ve literally been checking back every other day…
..doesn’t pizza hut or sbarro’s have those crust choices?
either way, you said you would include pics of the move…..
yeah, you’re site is amazing..
- Jenny
I was so excited to see the email from you in my inbox the other day. I’m glad you’re back, and I’m sorry about the hosting… I got impatient. :x
I’ve lived in New York my entire life, so I totally know what you mean about the pizza. I went down to Florida for a month and tried the pizza there. I took one bite and couldn’t stomach the rest of it. I don’t know what it is about NY that makes the pizza so good. Maybe it’s all the dirt and grime. Mmm, delicious.
- Ally
Eww, saying “pop”, hahah~ That sucks about the pizza issue. We have a place in San Francisco that has NY style pizza so you might have to look a bit harder, try the net or phone book, hehe~ ^_______________^
- Jenn~
buffalo isn’t florida. buffalo is new york. new york city is the excrement of new york state.
- justin
omg Justin, chill! Buffalo IS different than a lot of the northeast - I thought you were proud of that? Stop harassing my fucking visitors! Not just that, I keep getting excited thinking I have new comments, but no - it’s just you ;)
