A little of this and that

Yesterday was Justin’s birthday, and we went out to eat with his family, which was nice. We stopped at the mall and I had to go return these two bras from Victoria’s Secret. They were total douche bags about the “return policy” and made me feel like shit for wanting to exchange them. Anyway, we stood there arguing for a couple minutes before Justin flipped out and snatched the bras from the manager guy and started screaming something about how they are assholes and can’t do their job. It was a sight. Anyway, I might try to exchange them at another mall because they were like $48 a piece and they’re defective. I realize they changed their return policy, but when I bought the items, the policy had not changed yet, so I feel entitled to use the old policy… not the new, retarded one. mad

Later that night we went to the movies (just him and I) and saw the new Indiana Jones movie. It was a lot of fun to watch. We got there a few minutes late because we didn’t catch the train on time, but I don’t think we missed out on anything - it all still made sense.

I’ve been doing more research into my genealogy, which has always interested me. I found leads as to which of my ancestors died in the holocaust. My Jewish roots (ie. German, Austrian, Luxembourgian) are on my mother’s side, and the family name is rather rare and turns up practically nothing in google, but when I run it through the Database of Shoah Victims, which only lists Jewish victims, I get so many results. I didn’t expect to see so many deaths under that name; it is frightening. I can only wonder how many other distant relatives were simply lost to the dust, with no traces of them left behind, and no surviving family members to write of them after the fact. It is all so very sad, I can’t think about it.

Isn’t it nice the have a man that’ll stand up and yell on your behalf, sometimes (for me at least) it’s like ‘ woah chill out man’ that sucks that you could return them though, if they’re defective they should let you get new ones, screw any return policy.

My dad’s half of the family is Jewish and I’ve experienced the same thing. It really makes a part of history that nobody thinks about much anymore really hit home. All the people, some of whom would have still been alive. It’s horrible.

I kind of stopped blogging at the domain I bought from you already. Haha I’m such an indecisive nerd. : )

It was nice for Justin to stand up for you but it might have been a little excessive to scream and yell. Obviously, it didn’t get you guys anywhere.

It makes me wonder though, what their new policy is, that would deny return of defective products. I would probably have Justin call the corporate office on your behalf.

OMG. Victoria Secret, tsk tsk tsk! Deff should try at a different place!

Nice of Justin to flip his shit though, eh? Hahaha.

Distrubing about your family and the holocaust though. *shivers*

Wow I had no idea that Victoria Secrets was like that, I’ve never shopped there obviously so for future reference I think I will have to stay away from that one.

I’ve never had problems with Victoria’s Secret in the past. I would definitely go to a different place. You are fully entitled to get your money back. If they’re defective, you should’ve been able to return them. That’s a strange new “return policy”. Sounds more to me like a “once-you-buy-it, you’re-screwed” policy.

Wow.. how frightening to be researching about your ancestry and finding out this information. I’ve been to the holocaust museum in DC and I’ve also gone to many Holocaust speaker conferences, and I’m always so deeply moved.

Well that sucks about the bras. I never bought bras from Victoria’s Secret cause they don’t run that big lol. If you bought them under the old policy you should most definitely be entitled to the old policy. If they won’t let you return it, I’d call up corporate and bitch.

No matter what the return policy is, defective goods should be taken back by the seller/manufacturer. It’s not like you don’t want it, the simple fact is the product is not the quality it should be! Grr.

It’s difficult for me to track back through my family as I’m barely in contact with my own parents - let alone any other relatives!

Hmm that sucks about the bras…hmm though here in Germany I think no store would return bras or any underwear…don’t ask me why.

That’s very frightening and sad about your relatives :(
I feel so sorry for them :(

I would have thought that legally under contract law they would have to follow the old policy because even if it has changed, at the time of the purchase the policy had different terms. Seriously you should say something legal like that to them. Its like the best perk for me being a law student because I always make sure that I get to exchange or return products whenever I want! HAHA!

Happy belated birthday to him. Man that sucks about the return policy, that sucks. I love Genealogy it’s a great way to learn about your family, but then again that is the definition lol. Well good luck with that !

Wow I can’t believe they wouldn’t take them back, I mean it shouldn’t have been one big deal to take just two things back. Thats horrible.

Wow I can’t believe how rude they were about you returning those bras., shops are doing that here now, you buy something and the next day they seem to change their return policy. It’s so stupid.

That sucks! What’s the new return policy like? Is it even a “return” policy anymore? Anyway, hope you get your money back, or at least a bra that’s not defective!
