I was once alive…
It’s been a while since I blogged.
On Monday we registered for our classes at the college and then sort of walked around before stopping and eating $10 worth of bagels, donuts and coffee. After all of that, it was getting late and we decided to go see The Happening. It is being trashed terribly on the internet on sites like IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, but we both really liked it. I won’t go into detail as some people haven’t seen it yet. I guess M. Night has a lot of haters, so it is just one of those love it/hate it movies.
After The Happening, we knew we had no other plans for our Monday night, so we sat in the lobby of the theater eating nachos for 30 minutes, and then on a whim we bought tickets to see The Strangers, which was a very lame movie and a total waste of money. I’ve never actually watched two movies back-to-back in a theater, so that was an odd (but fun) experience. The ticket-taker guy laughed at us.
Tonight a few bands are playing at some bar/club place only a couple blocks away, so that will be our Wednesday night. Some of Justin’s friends might be there, so I hope I’m not ditched, drinking my diet soda all alone at a bar.
One of the bands (Speakerfire) actually played with Every Time I Die that time we saw them in Harrisburg, PA. The other bands are kind of metal/grind from what I’ve heard. Maybe it’ll be fun.
I’ve been learning Italian. Both of us have been using Rosetta Stone for two weeks now and it actually works well. I will take actual college classes eventually, but this is a good start for learning vocabulary and grammar and speaking with a “standard” non-dialect Italian accent. Well, wish us luck.

I thought for a minute that the RSS for your site was messing up again so I kept checking back for reoccurring disappointment that you’ve not been updating. I missed your entries!!
Seeing a crappy movie in cinema is such an expensive waste of money. I’ve been wanting to see The Happening though, so thanks for posting your opinion. (I’ve never even heard of The Strangers before.)
I hope you had a good night last night, and that you didn’t get ditched at the bar.
P.S.: I can’t help but notice that a quote from A Beautiful Mind came up in your random movie quote section. It’s one of my favorite movies and I love that quote. (It’s the only way we all get laid.)
xox!

Oooh I’ve wanted to try Rosetta Stone to learn Japanese. I guess since it does really work I’ll look into it. :3
Whenever we go out with the hubby’s friends, I usually get ditched. :(

Ahh yes I hate it when my boyfriend ignores me at the bar, it makes me look and feel akward! LOL. Anyways, I hope learning Italian goes well for you, it sounds like fun ;-)

That’s funny. Trish and I went to see that movie on Friday night when we had our baby-less date night.
I’ll tell you what, if the movie ended when they make you think it is in the farmhouse, I was thinking to myself “Wow. They’ve actually managed to make a movie that has a more depressing ending than 28 Days Later.”

I’m usually a fan of M Night Shyamalan movies. I’ve heard really bad reviews from a majority of people about this one, and I’m usually a tough critic. But I am going to wait and rent the movie… then I’ll make my judgements. It looks like it’d be really interesting, but depending on the director, it might not be as great as some could’ve expected it to be.
Isn’t The Strangers that movie with Liv Tyler? I thought that would’ve been decent. Guess not. I’ll rent that one with friends so we can point and laugh at it’s stupidity like we did for The Village.

I wish I had gone to the show with you. I’ve been missing live music a lot lately, haven’t really had a chance to do anything music-wise. I miss being completely immersed.

The Happening sounds like an interesting movie,I think it’s not yet out here though…but I’m planning on watching it…haven’t really got an opinion on M.Night though I have only seen one of his movies,The Village and found that a little weird.
I’m sorry the other movie was a waste of time/money.
Awww Italian is a beatiful language, good to hear that it’s going well!

I’m not an M. Night fan at all. Everything I’ve seen by him I’ve thought was incredibly boring. But hey, like you said, love it or hate it. Italian is such an awesome language. I started taking it last semester at college. My professor was this tiny little lady from Sicily. She made the class so much more interesting, you should definitely take some courses at college.
