There’s no strength in numbers.
Thursday - Ever Fallen In Love (Buzzcocks cover)Fall is right around the corner and I’m gearing up by removing my plugs and letting my ear lobes shrink as small as they can. I figure I will let them go “naked” for 5 or 6 weeks, and then buy some nice wood jewelry for them in whatever size they “decide” to shrink to. This might not make much sense, so I’ll elaborate: cold weather can hinder circulation in stretched lobes (just like it does to fingers and toes) and since my lobes are already thin, I’m taking no chances. In a few months I will start to stretch back up again. I downsized from 3/4 inch to 5/8 inch about a year ago, but was too vain to go smaller. Now I realize it’s for the best, even if I’ll have tiny little ear holes.
Justin and I have been going to these free workshops at the college to hone our algebra skills, or lack thereof. I have to admit, Justin is more competent with math than I am. I zone out when I’m looking at those long equations and it all just blends together and looks the same to me. It doesn’t seem real, and it doesn’t mean anything. It’s so frustrating.
Anyway, I didn’t have anything to blog about, which is how I ended up with a post about ears and math. The only non-lame part was the Hot Cross lyric I used as a title. I apologize if you actually read through it all.

Hmm.. what’s even more lame is that I was excited that you blogged!
Hahahaa BUUUT reading about stretching and shrinking lobes is interesting to me because I think you’re the only other female blogger I know that has them (other than me
) I keep convincing myself to stretch bigger, my only dilemma is purchasing new jewelry (I do want wooden ones!) but I have so many silicone ones that I love in 0′s that I’m afraid would have gone to waste if I go up to 1/2 like I want. AGH.
I think big lobes are cute on girls, but no bigger than 1 inch.

Apparently, applying white petroleum to your earlobes helps shrink the holes.

I honestly have no idea that as seasons change, so do earlobe holes. The ignorance may partly be blamed at the lack of four seasons in my country, which has only sunny and rainy days throughout the year. I learn something new everyday, I guess. :)
I’m also surprised that piercings can be stretched. How in hell can you do that? I can imagine the “shrinking” process; one of my piercings almost closed up because I stopped wearing earrings. Anyway, I had to look at the pics you have up in your “Piercings” page, and almost went slack-jawed when I saw what you mean by “plugs” and all that. Meh.
Algebra has always been one of my most favorite Math discipline. But I do know what you mean about you zoning out and the equations blending in. Maybe you’re taking in all the lessons subconsciously? Well, at least the workshops are free, right? :)

Don’t apologize for us reading through it. I mean honestly it’s here for a reason, and you blogged for a reason regardless. I’d rather read random gibberish than a post that weeks old.
I feel the same about algebra. I used to love math, but it’s so meaningless…
Idk what to say about the ear thing, LOL. I’ve never had my ears done like that so hmm.. :X

I admire you for stretching your lobes. I was with my sister when she had hers done and she threw up everywhere, but they look good on her now.

I’ve never liked math, but I’ve always been really good at it. I finished my first year of high school math in 7th grade. But put a history textbook in front of me and I’m lost.
