I am also very pleased that Obama has been elected. He really seems to have something about him that many people are able to find hope in, and that is something special.

That is a shame Justin’s family are not open to hear his views or even see that of the ‘blue’ side. But then, I guess we all have our opinions and beliefs on certain issues and some people get stuck in their ways.

as far as politics go, american politics are boring, because they are ceaselessly futile. they are ceaselessly futile because america is capitalist and it is pointless to separate politics from capitalism when capitalism is the primary motivator of this nation. when capitalism no longer plays a role in politics, the united states ceases to play a role as a superpower, and that is why american politics can never be fully engaging or interesting.

I don’t really care about the elections and shit yet.

I’m too young, and I even acknowledge the fact that it’s just because I’m too young that I don’t care yet, and I still find politics boring. Hopefully someday soon I’ll start caring, because I realize how important it actually is haha.

I almost pissed myself with glee.

Finally, America found a president that is not only intelligent and articulate, but someone who has ideas that can actually change the country for the better. Also…he’s proposing that I get better tax cuts, he hasn’t surpassed the U.S. life expectancy, and his VP isn’t a hillbilly religious nut.

Listening to people speak doesn’t usually pull much emotion from me but Obama really did last night. It’s so nice to feel like we can change as a country, and to just feel like there IS hope afterall.

I got kicked out of my family for voting Democratic yesterday. But when Obama cures the world (overstatement?) they’ll be singing a different tune.

Fuck yes Obama! The hubby was completely disinterested in the election and was playing video games, so I kept track of the electoral votes on cnn’s website, watched Obama’s speech, and went to bed. Dems also won majority of the house and senate! W00t!

I had that same feeling of connection at midnight while watching Obama speak as president-elect. I had goosebumps and tears in my eyes. Actually, just thinking about it now makes me feel the same way all over again.
