Neil Perry - So Tom Cruise Turns to Me and SaysWe just got back from the mall. We took the bus like we always do, but it was packed to the point where we had to stand. It reminded me of the good ol’ days when we lived in Philly, haha. Justin bought this blue hoodie from Urban Outfitters that looks almost identical to this one he’s been sweating from American Apparel. I got two pairs of jeans and a grey sweater.
My Amazon account was compromised two weeks ago and I’ve been dealing with the nightmare ever since I found out (like a week ago). Someone ordered three PS2s and had them sent to one of the addresses on file and then tried to get the sellers to send them to a different phony address somewhere in Texas. The purchases threw my account into the negative so now I have a shitload of overdraft fees from M&T Bank. I really hope this is cleaned up soon with my bank and with Amazon.
I haven’t felt the drive to blog, although I have had a few noteworthy things happen in my life. I was sick for like two weeks with a sinus infection, and I’m still coughing and have a cold although the antibiotics took care of the fluorescent aspect of my mucous, haha eww! I’ve been busy doing some actual web work, as in an actual paying job, which has been fun/scary. Also, coursework is starting to pile up finally and college is getting a little more time consuming so, although it’s annoying, I feel like they are starting to earn that tuition money I paid them.
I have to read 5 chapters for this one class that I haven’t even started even though midterms are around the corner and I know all of the questions are essays… and I have a thesis paper due for another class, and the list goes on and on.
I told Justin that we need to start taking our Italian lessons again, because our trip is coming up next summer and I’d like to be decent at communicating. Also, I have been feeling really motivated by how well we can understand Italian films and even the Latin used in our science and history classes is easier to understand. For a while I thought maybe I was silly for choosing a language with such limited influence in the modern world, but I’m feeling good about it again.
It’s been way too long since I posted. I had my wisdom teeth out on the 4th, but I’m still having little problems with pain in the bottom part of my jaw. I guess I got dry socket, although the doctor never said that, she implied that the blood clot in the extraction site could have been lost of not sufficient enough, etc. I followed all instructions to a tee, but apparently I have bad luck.
I’m gonna go back in on Monday to get it “packed” or whatever they do with that nasty smelling/tasting clove oil and medicine thing.
School is good. It’s so easy and annoying, though. So many students pipe in with their 2 cents. They spew random facts to look intellectual or something, but everything they say is just a regurgitated idea taken directly from the text book or the professor’s lecture. Besides the retarded student body, the classes all seems like 9th grade level (maximum) and the Biology class I’m taking is dealing with shit I learned in 6th grade. It’s depressing that I’m not learning much, but at least I barely have to read or study. I didn’t know there was a way to “test” out of these low-level courses, but now that I do know, next semester should be better.
Buffalo’s NFTA is doing something or “fixing” something with the trains, so schedules are all fucked up and we have to wait almost 15 minutes to get our train. Not only that, but they didn’t account for the extra passengers now that there are less than half as many times on the schedule, and they didn’t add any extra cars. So we are lucky to get a seat, and even luckier to not be subjected to someone’s ass or crotch in our face, something I’m not used to in a medium-size city like this.
I dyed Justin’s hair almost a week ago to a medium brown. It turned out okay, but I think the color is too feminine, like it has almost an auburn touch to it. It looks odd. Next time we’ll use a flatter brown. He likes it though. I know he hates his natural blond, and I never liked blond hair on men as much as brown/black either, so I can’t blame him. Although, I think he’s adorable (although a bit egotistical) either way.
City of Caterpillar - A Heart Filled Reaction to DissatisfactionClasses start for us on the 3rd and my wisdom teeth are coming out on the 4th. It sucks that I couldn’t get an appointment before school started. Justin just had dental work done yesterday, and in a few days he has an eye appointment because he’s getting new glasses. He picked out these D&Gs that are a little slimmer than his RayBans that he wears now. We both liked these Prada ones but they were like double the price. So yeah, next week will be pretty busy for us both.
Last week a bat somehow got into our apartment. I was blow-drying my hair after my shower, and out of the corner of my eye I see some black thing flying in the kitchen, and my first thought was bat, not bird. I began screaming “Bat! Oh my god! A bat! A fucking bat!” and shut myself in the bathroom. Justin was in another room on the computer and came out and was like “Bat? What do you mean? What are you talking about?” as the bat flew right past his head. It then became hilarious as he tried to catch it with a towel, and I was scrambling to get a window open and trying to shoo it out with the broom. Then Justin said something about rabies and I screamed and got scared again.
Anyway, it was an exciting 10 minutes because not much happens here.
I just got finished watching Alice in Wonderland a little bit ago, and in a little I’m going to head off to Rite Aid to get some of the notebooks they have on sale. I don’t have anything else to do today, so I’ll probably watch another Disney movie when I get back. I’m just in that little-kid mood.
Thursday - Ever Fallen In Love (Buzzcocks cover)Fall is right around the corner and I’m gearing up by removing my plugs and letting my ear lobes shrink as small as they can. I figure I will let them go “naked” for 5 or 6 weeks, and then buy some nice wood jewelry for them in whatever size they “decide” to shrink to. This might not make much sense, so I’ll elaborate: cold weather can hinder circulation in stretched lobes (just like it does to fingers and toes) and since my lobes are already thin, I’m taking no chances. In a few months I will start to stretch back up again. I downsized from 3/4 inch to 5/8 inch about a year ago, but was too vain to go smaller. Now I realize it’s for the best, even if I’ll have tiny little ear holes.
Justin and I have been going to these free workshops at the college to hone our algebra skills, or lack thereof. I have to admit, Justin is more competent with math than I am. I zone out when I’m looking at those long equations and it all just blends together and looks the same to me. It doesn’t seem real, and it doesn’t mean anything. It’s so frustrating.
Anyway, I didn’t have anything to blog about, which is how I ended up with a post about ears and math. The only non-lame part was the Hot Cross lyric I used as a title. I apologize if you actually read through it all.
